About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Biostatistician I to join our team at Hospital for Special Surgery. As a Biostatistician I, you will play a critical role in supporting our research initiatives and contributing to the development of innovative solutions to improve patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement observational studies using institutional electronic health record data and national administrative medical databases.
  • Manage and analyze large datasets using statistical programming languages such as SAS, Stata, SPSS, S-Plus, and/or R.
  • Conduct data analysis and report writing under the mentorship of senior staff.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for data entry, data cleaning, documentation, and other administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with researchers and clinicians to identify and address research questions and hypotheses.
  • Develop and implement data visualization tools to communicate research findings to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Biostatistics or a related discipline.
  • Experience with regression and survival analysis.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical programming languages.
  • Strong written and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Preferred qualifications include two or more years of experience as a Statistical Programmer or Analyst, and previous collaborative research experience with healthcare-related data.
