Classroom Support Professional

Job Summary
The Michigan School Public Relations Association is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Paraprofessional Title 1 to join our team. As a key member of our educational staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher and providing a positive learning environment for our students.
Responsibilities
- Assist the classroom teacher in implementing classroom activities and lesson plans, including behavioral intervention plans.
- Attend weekly staff and team meetings, as well as other meetings as required.
- Assist in planning and implementing educational activities that promote student engagement and academic success.
- Maintain student behavior through approved interventions and techniques.
- Assist students in meeting educational goals and provide academic interventions as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Prepare instructional materials for teaching and display in the classroom.
- Lead small group activities and supervise students during lunch and recess times.
- Understand and be aware of medical needs of students, following medical protocol under the supervision of a nurse as necessary.
- Maintain documentation of student progress relative to academic and non-academic goals and objectives.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all board policies.
- Supervise students when the teacher is not present.
Requirements
- Must have passed the ETS Parapro Assessment or hold the equivalent of an Associate's Degree from an accredited university.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
