Description
The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) is seeking a Family Medical Leave (FML) Administrator to enhance our Human Resources department and assist in the establishment of a partially centralized FML management framework. We are in search of an individual who demonstrates empathy towards employee needs while being capable of making informed decisions regarding leave benefits in accordance with relevant laws and regulations. This role is ideal for those looking to develop efficient processes for managing leave and guiding employees through the often complex medical leave landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert in managing and administering partially centralized processes for Family and Medical Leave, including specialized leave options that may run concurrently.
- Engage with employees to assess their needs and navigate the leave process, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations.
- Reconcile leave in our HRIS, coordinate return-to-work arrangements, and assist with payroll corrections as necessary.
- Provide guidance to employees on eligibility for various leave benefits, including federal and state programs.
- Facilitate the completion of required paperwork and monitor leave usage, keeping employees informed about their leave status.
- Calculate necessary leave adjustments and assist in payroll coordination.
- Communicate effectively with HR offices, employees, and managers regarding leave rights and responsibilities.
- Collaborate with state divisions to enhance the efficiency of leave management processes.
- Support HR teams in resolving leave-related disputes while ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent HR experience in leave administration.
- A minimum of two years of experience in leave administration, including familiarity with the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
