Recreational Activities Coordinator

Position Overview:
The Activities Director is responsible for the planning, promotion, and execution of individual and group activities tailored to the interests and needs of our residents. Key responsibilities include:
- Educating new residents and their families about the Facility's Activity Program.
- Conducting thorough Activities Assessments for each resident in accordance with established documentation policies.
- Organizing and leading recreational activities, both indoors and outdoors.
- Facilitating educational, creative, and expressive activities, as well as exercise programs.
- Overseeing the scheduling and promotion of all events to foster enthusiasm and participation among residents.
- Managing the Volunteer Program, including training and placement of volunteers.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Recreational Therapy from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Eligibility for a North Carolina license as an occupational therapist or assistant, or certification as a recreation therapist.
- Previous experience as an Activities Director or in Long Term Care settings is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Proficient computer skills and the capacity to multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with documentation processes, including MDS and progress notes.
- The ability to perform well under pressure while managing resources efficiently.
- A valid North Carolina Driver's License.
