Job Title: Specialist I, Claims and Revenue

DeKalb County School District is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Specialist I, Claims and Revenue. This role is responsible for obtaining Federal and State funds for the DeKalb County Nutrition Program, monitoring daily cash deposits from school cafeterias, and preparing financial reports to meet state and federal compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and submit reports for federal and state compliance.
  • Prepare monthly requisitions for federal funds reimbursement.
  • Assist school nutrition managers with corrections and consolidation of monthly financial documents.
  • Analyze items and prepare adjusting journal entries for revenue accounts.
  • Reconcile Client Access files daily.
  • Provide training and technical support to school nutrition managers and personnel.
  • Conduct annual reviews to ensure compliance with school system, state, and federal codes and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university preferred.
  • Minimum of three years technical level accounting, purchasing, or closely related experience required.
