Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team at a great school district near Bolingbrook, IL. The successful candidate will work at one elementary school, providing direct therapy services to students and collaborating with teachers and school staff to integrate speech and language goals into classroom activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and diagnose speech and language disorders in students, developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) as needed.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, both one-on-one and in small groups, monitoring and documenting progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to integrate speech and language goals into classroom activities, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Educate and support parents and guardians on strategies to support their child's communication development, fostering a strong partnership between home and school.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to the development of educational plans and staying current with best practices and research in speech-language pathology and special education.
Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Illinois licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a school setting or with children is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
