Job Title: Phlebotomy Technician

We are looking for a professional and organized Phlebotomy Technician to join our team at Access Dx Laboratory, LLC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for collecting patient samples and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

About the Job

  • This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of $50,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of one year of phlebotomy/specimen collection experience.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook is also required.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Represent the laboratory in a professional manner while adhering to strict HIPAA guidelines.
  2. Arrange daily activities based on the urgency of requests for fluid samples.
  3. Identify patients and their personal information using their ID, documents, or other means.
  4. Determine the right venipuncture method based on patient age, health, etc.
  5. Reassure patients and help them relax.
  6. Finding veins that are suitable for puncture.
  7. Draw blood using sterilized needles, vials, and other equipment.
  8. Ensure optimal quality and quantity of samples.
  9. Verify patient identity/billing information and testing diagnostics codes prior to creating orders/collecting specimen.
  10. Record patient data accurately on requisition forms/electronic lab orders.
  11. Accurately label patient specimens and efficiently pack the specimen for transport, shipping, or courier service.
  12. Inform courier services and labs of samples that need to be picked up immediately or dropped off all specimen samples to the laboratory physical location.
  13. Maintain cleanliness and organization of collection area, self, and supplies.
