Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Create and refine chemical processes and equipment for production operations, focusing on aspects such as mixing, mass transport, heat transfer, scaling, process control, and optimization.
  • Innovation and Research: Engage in research activities aimed at developing new chemical products and processes, applying advanced chemical engineering principles to tackle complex challenges.
  • Project Oversight: Manage projects from start to finish, identifying requirements to address product/process challenges and facilitating the introduction of new products/processes.
  • Technical Expertise: Offer technical support to production teams, troubleshoot issues, and implement process control systems, including logic controllers.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance production processes and ensure adherence to FDA regulations and other relevant industry standards.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive research reports, grant applications, and protocols, and communicate findings to stakeholders, including team members, clients, investors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Safety and Compliance: Conduct risk assessments and enforce safety protocols within the workplace.

Qualifications Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (Advanced degree is a plus).
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in chemical engineering R&D, with substantial experience across various industrial sectors.

Preferred Competencies:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in process simulation and data analysis tools.
  • Understanding of mixing fundamentals and design criteria for standard mixing processes.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing concepts and FDA compliance.
  • A passion for working in a diverse and challenging technological environment.
  • A strong work ethic and ability to function effectively as part of a team.
