About the Role

Mizuho Bank Ltd is seeking a seasoned Strategic Sourcing Director to lead our procurement team and drive strategic sourcing initiatives across critical categories of spend.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and oversee implementation of sourcing strategies for assigned categories, such as IT Hardware, IT Software, Professional Services, and other areas based on Mizuho priorities.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify and qualify potential suppliers.
  • Lead executive-level engagements to negotiate contracts and commercial terms with suppliers, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Support key supplier relationships with the business, helping resolve issues and escalations as well as negotiating relationship-wide programs where applicable.
  • Lead development of a formal program to manage supplier performance and relationships.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation, executive-level communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make sound decisions.
