Job Summary

As a skilled construction laborer at Memorial Healthcare, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely completion of construction projects while maintaining a safe working environment. You will work closely with the construction general foreman and other plant operations personnel to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  1. General Carpentry: Perform various carpentry tasks, including framing, finishing, and installing cabinets.
  2. Drywall Installation and Finishing: Install and finish drywall to ensure smooth surfaces and precise joints.
  3. Plumbing and Electrical Work: Perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs and installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  4. Scope Execution: Follow and execute scopes of work with attention to detail and a focus on quality.
  5. Job Site Maintenance: Maintain clean and organized job sites, adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.
Requirements
  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in home maintenance, repair, and remodeling projects, with direct experience in commercial construction.
  3. Skills: Ability to read blueprints and specifications, proficiency in using modern office and computer equipment, and fine hand-eye coordination for small device repairs.
Essential Physical Abilities
  1. Sedentary Work: Frequently required to stand, kneel, and crouch, with the ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
  2. Vision: Requires the ability to perceive objects by the eye, with near acuity, midrange acuity, and peripheral field of vision.
  3. Motor Coordination: Regularly perform functions that include using hand and finger movement, handling tools, and traveling independently throughout the hospital.
Essential Technical Abilities
  1. Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in using modern office, computer, and telephone equipment as used by Memorial Healthcare.
  2. Tool Operation: Ability to safely operate mechanical and electrical powered tools.
Essential Mental Abilities
  1. Adaptability: Ability to adapt and maintain focus in fast-paced, quickly changing, or stressful situations.
  2. Communication: Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions, with independent judgment to determine how to function in an emergency situation.
Essential Sensory Requirements
  1. Vision: Able to see for the purpose of reading information received in formats including paper, computer, reports, bulletins, updates, and manuals.
  2. Hearing: Able to hear for work-related purposes, with correctable hearing equivalent to less than 25% less necessary to discern various sounds that will assure safety.
