Job Title: Summer Youth Musical Theatre Program Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Summer Youth Musical Theatre Program Director to lead our four-week program for children aged 5-9. The ideal candidate will have a passion for music, theatre, and arts education, and a proven track record of promoting the growth and development of their students.

Responsibilities:
  • Stage and direct weekly musical shows
  • Create programs and props for each weekly show, with the assistance of teen interns
  • Meet and manage support staff daily (1 morning music director, 1 afternoon choreographer, 2-4 high school interns)
  • Mentor & delegate tasks and projects to interns as needed
  • Ensure Summer Workshop policies are always met and followed
  • Create and run daily rehearsal schedules and oversee all activities & classroom management
  • Ensure the safety of all students and staff
  • Notify NEMPAC of any facility needs, concerns, or challenges
Qualifications:
  • Skilled in teaching students between 5-9, with excellent classroom management skills
  • Have prior musical theatre or theatre teaching/directing experience and be committed to promoting the growth of their students
  • Have exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Passion for music, theatre, and arts education
  • A positive and fun attitude
  • Have flexibility to changes in schedule, can work in a fast-paced environment
  • An undergraduate degree in education, music, theatre, musical theatre, theatre education, music education or arts education is preferred. Relevant experience is an acceptable substitute
