Carpenter Job Description

The Carpenter is responsible for constructing or assembling concrete forming systems, according to blueprints and specifications, for forming concrete structures.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to all Safety policies and procedures, including reporting accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
  • Construct, erect, install, and repair structures, scaffolding, and framework using hand and power tools.
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine dimensions and type of material required.
  • Maintain knowledge on using and operating power equipment required to fulfill job duties.
  • Comply with all Company Safety policies and procedures, such as ensuring proper safety scaffolding and equipment is in place while performing job duties.
  • Secure and put away all tools, equipment, and materials at the end of each work day.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in bridge work is preferred.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • A minimum of 3 years of assembly/disassembly of heavy form systems is necessary.
  • Knowledge in the use of concrete pumps, concrete placement/finishing, rebar installation is advantageous.
  • Prior rigging knowledge is beneficial.
  • Experience with leveling tools such as laser levels and transits is required.
