Position Overview:

The City of Montgomery is seeking a dedicated professional for the role of Construction and Heavy Equipment Supervisor. This position involves overseeing a team responsible for the installation, upkeep, and repair of essential infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of two or more full-time staff members.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of roads, bridges, and drainage systems.
  • Calculate the necessary materials, labor, and machinery for various construction initiatives.
  • Address and resolve public inquiries related to maintenance activities.
  • Operate heavy machinery including compactors, bulldozers, and excavators.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance, repair, and construction is essential.
  • At least 2 years of experience in operating heavy construction equipment is necessary.

Additional Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Availability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Must hold a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for equipment operation.
  • Required to obtain Landfill Operator Certification.
