We are seeking a skilled Painter III to join our team at Chatham County Schools - Maintenance Department. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing painting services to maintain, improve, and provide a functional and safe learning environment for students, staff, and the public.

• Apply coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect surfaces of buildings, fixtures, and equipment.
• Prepare surfaces, remove old finishes, and fill holes, cracks, and joints.
• Remove fixtures, such as switch covers, and spread drop cloths over floors and room furnishings.
• Cover windows, door frames, and baseboards with masking tape, and erect scaffolding or set up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
• Determine correct paint materials to prevent peeling and flaking, and observe/monitor contracted work to give directions for corrections.
• Determine and request type and quantities of materials needed, and maintain records of all paint types/colors and where they are used.
• Perform general maintenance and manual labor tasks as needed, and assist other employees/trades as needed.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years of considerable and progressively advanced experience in painting.
• Must hold a valid NC driver's license.
