Role Summary
The Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant (RTA) is responsible for executing therapeutic interventions under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist. This includes administering therapeutic exercises, assisting with mobility training, and engaging in various physical therapy activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the supervising Physical Therapist and Rehabilitation Director to ensure the therapeutic program aligns with the patient's care plan.
- Educates and instructs patients on techniques and exercises aimed at enhancing mobility, strength, balance, coordination, endurance, and overall functional capabilities, as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Monitors, documents, and communicates the patient's responses to therapy and any alterations in their condition. Records the patient's participation in decisions regarding their care.
- Engages in interdisciplinary case discussions to synchronize the patient's care strategy and foster positive therapeutic outcomes.
- Reports any patient concerns regarding discomfort or adverse reactions to the Physical Therapist and Rehabilitation Coordinator.
Must possess adequate vision and hearing to understand both written and verbal instructions. Ability to perform duties for a minimum of eight (8) hours daily, which may include driving, standing, sitting, assisting patient mobility, writing, and verbal communication.
