Job Summary

United Digestive is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Endoscopy team in a PRN capacity. As an Endoscopy Nurse, you will provide individualized and specialized nursing care to patients within the endoscopy center, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing endoscopic procedures, including pre-procedure preparation, procedure performance, and post-procedure recovery.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including medical histories, treatment plans, and test results.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest level of patient care and safety.

Requirements

  • Current State license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Experience in GI endoscopy preferred.
  • Membership in GI specialty or other local, state, or national professional societies encouraged.
  • Maintains Basic Cardiac Life Support certification. ACLS certification is recommended, but optional.
  • Completion of Airway Management Module is required prior to administering IV conscious sedation. Score of 100% on conscious sedation module post-test.

Physical and Mental Demands

  • Ability to work under stress.
  • Moderate periods of sitting and computer use.
  • Good visual acuity.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl.
  • Ability to reach, grasp, use fine finger movement and feel sensation to discern temperature, texture, size, and shape.
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time, lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 25 pounds.
