Camp Cobbossee for Boys Seeks Registered Nurse

Camp Cobbossee, a premier all-boys residential camp located on the shores of Lake Cobbosseecontee in Maine, is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join our health center team for the upcoming summer season.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide high-quality healthcare services to our campers and staff. The successful candidate will work closely with our health center team to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct intake and exit assessments of campers and staff
  • Provide routine daily sick call and administer OTC medications as needed
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide care to all campers and staff
  • Prepare and administer medications daily in a safe, accurate, and timely manner
  • Give treatments as needed and review, update, and maintain medical records
  • Arrange appointments for campers and staff with pediatricians, dentists, and other healthcare providers as required
  • Transport campers or staff to nearby medical facilities for non-life-threatening emergencies
  • Be on call during the night on a rotating basis
Additional Responsibilities
  • Monitor and update the list of needed supplies and stock emergency room and First Aid Kits as necessary
  • Prepare and pack medications for camper day trips and overnight trips
  • Perform laundry duties as needed for individuals admitted to the health center for illness and observation
  • Contribute to maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the health center
  • Perform other related duties as needed or requested by the Nurse Manager or Camp Director
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Registered Nurse Certification required
  • Current State of Maine nursing license or current license in a reciprocal state, and current CPR certification
  • Pediatric experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license and ability to transport children
  • Excellent organizational and clinical skills, with the ability to work independently with pediatric and adult patients
  • Confidence in delivering routine and emergency care in a camp setting
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills, with basic computer skills
  • Physical ability to lift and assist campers and staff as needed
  • Able to maintain a positive and enthusiastic presence with all campers, staff, and camper families
  • Respect for all races, classes, creeds, and backgrounds, and sexual orientations
