Universal Industrial Sales Inc is seeking a skilled GMAW Welder to join our team in the fabrication of steel highway products. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for constructing, fitting, and welding guard rail components using shop drawings and pre-cut parts.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare component assemblies for welding
- Verify welding is in accordance with specific codes and weld procedures
- Adjust welding equipment as needed
- Perform welds as specified and directed by supervisor
- Clean and prepare finished products for inspection
- Keep personal tools and assigned tools in proper working order
- Communicate with supervisor
- Work must be completed in a timely manner consistent with industry standards
- 1-2 years GMAW 1G experience or recent welding trade school graduate
- Interpret weld procedures
- Ability to be Crane Certified
- Ability to be Forklift Certified
- Understand AWS codes and procedures
- Must be able to read and utilize a tape measure
- Lifting-75lbs 2% of the time
- Lift 60 lbs. 40% of the time
- Ability to operate a Grinder, Forklift, Side-Lift and Overhead Crane is preferred but not required
- Standing 90% of the time
- Walking 30% of the time
Job requires outdoor work and indoor in all weather conditions with extreme temperatures. Majority of work is done indoors in a heated area.
Shift and PayShift: M-Th 6am-4:30pm F 6am - 2:30pm Saturdays when needed
Hourly Pay Range: 1G - $18.00 - $23.69 hr DOE, 3G - $19.00 - $25.00 hr DOE
