Medical Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Director to lead our Adult Liver Transplant Program at the University of Miami Health System. As a key member of our transplant team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve patient outcomes, advancing our program's growth and excellence, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development: Collaborate with the Medical and Surgical Director to establish transplant program goals and objectives, and develop strategies to achieve them.
- Clinical Leadership: Provide medical leadership to the Transplant program's Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Committee, and participate in monthly program-specific QAPI committee meetings.
- Quality Improvement: Analyze outcomes and trends in data analysis to determine appropriate performance metrics, and identify areas for performance improvement.
- Education and Outreach: Ensure education is provided for hospital staff regarding transplant program policies and appropriate medical practices, and participate in hospital, physician, and community outreach activities.
- Business Development: Maintain relations with referring physicians and community organizations, and participate in business development activities to increase physician patient referrals.
- Board certified in Medicine with a completed fellowship in Hepatology and underwent Transplant Fellowship or has held more than 5 years of transplant experience.
- Member in good standing of the hospital staff.
- Currently licensed to practice in Florida.
- Minimum of five years clinical experience in Transplantation.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to accept and implement change.
- Ability to problem solving to make effective decisions.
- Demonstrated history of positive collegial relations with colleagues, support staff, administrators, and patients.
- Ability to show leadership qualities in the past.
