Job Responsibilities:
Location: Must be in the Egg Harbor, NJ, Philadelphia, PA or Wilmington, DE area
As a Senior Liability Claims Analyst, you will:
- Conduct thorough investigations of assigned claims to assess coverage, liability, and damages.
- Utilize your understanding of coverage concepts, policy interpretation, exposure recognition, and liability determination to facilitate the resolution of claims following industry Best Practices.
- Engage with claimants and witnesses to gather information, establish claim reserves, and manage evidence collection.
- Interpret official reports, medical documentation, and claim forms while participating in mediations, trials, or hearings as necessary.
- Negotiate settlements, set reserves, and manage litigation in accordance with client service parameters and authority levels.
- Present evidence during legal proceedings when required.
- Oversee appraisal and inspection processes for damaged properties.
- Report significant injuries, liability concerns, and potential large loss claims to clients and reinsurers based on established criteria.
- Document action plans within the claims system and maintain appropriate follow-up schedules.
- Ensure timely progression of cases towards optimal financial outcomes and resolutions.
- Close files efficiently and maintain a closing ratio as directed by management.
- Participate in external client meetings and seminars.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, claimants, attorneys, investigators, experts, and other vendors.
- Complete payment authorization requests as applicable.
- Adhere to all excess and reinsurance reporting requirements and manage self-insured retention reporting.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders regarding a variety of claims and account-related matters.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to clients, including face-to-face interactions during claim reviews and account-specific meetings.
- Assist with company training and educational initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-4 years in the insurance or legal sectors is required, with a focus on handling liability claims. Additional experience may be necessary based on the complexity of claims. Completion of relevant liability training courses is preferred, along with any applicable licenses or certifications.
