Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cytologist to join our team at East Ohio LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing microscopic analysis of GYN and Non-GYN specimens for cellular abnormalities, as well as assisting with histology duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform microscopic analysis of GYN and Non-GYN specimens for cellular abnormalities, including bacterial and viral infections, cancer, meningitis, and other diseases, under the supervision of a pathologist.
  • Assist in the collection, preparation, processing, instrumentation, and interpretation of body fluids for cytologic evaluation.
  • Record daily screening and workload volume, and maintain strict compliance with set workload limits.
  • Complete yearly proficiency testing with acceptable results.
  • Perform cytology QA functions.
  • Assist with histology duties, including small specimen grossing.
  • Utilize strong computer, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Work independently, responsibly, and perform repetitive, highly-detailed microscopic work for extended periods.
  • Adhere to all safety policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology, Medical Technology, Biology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Must have graduated from an accredited school of Cytotechnology, be certified as a Cytotechnologist, or qualify as a Cytotechnologist under previous CLIA regulations.
  • ASCP certification as a Cytotechnologist is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of full-time experience in the last 10 years.
