About the Role

As a PACU Nurse, you will be responsible for preparing patients for surgical procedures, administering medications as directed by physicians, and developing and implementing nursing care plans for surgical patients. You will also demonstrate a high level of compassion and empathy for patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for surgical procedures, including obtaining informed consent and conducting preoperative assessments.
  • Administer medications as directed by physicians, ensuring accurate dosing and timing.
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans for surgical patients, taking into account their individual needs and medical histories.
  • Demonstrate a high level of compassion and empathy for patients and their families, providing emotional support and reassurance during the recovery process.

Requirements

  • Unencumbered license to practice in the State of Arkansas.
  • 6 months of acute care experience, with preference given to those with previous outpatient or pre-op experience.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
