Role Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse (RN), operating within the framework of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will deliver care in a manner that is sensitive to each individual's physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. The Staff RN is responsible for providing patient care using the Nursing Process in accordance with the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of Mount Carmel Health System.
Key Duties Include:
- Assessing and evaluating patient care for a designated group of patients, employing evidence-based practices; assisting providers with patient assessments, examinations, and treatments; performing basic medical procedures under provider supervision, including preparation for procedures.
- Administering medications under the guidance of the provider, adhering to the organization's standards, policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.
- Assisting in emergency situations under the direction of the provider.
- Thoroughly educating and explaining procedures to patients and their families (diagnosis, disease process, etc.).
- Accurately documenting pertinent assessments, interventions, and outcomes for patients in compliance with documentation standards, policies, procedures, and/or guidelines.
- Assuming responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed caregivers as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage patient care, including delegation and supervision of other members of the patient care team.
- Basic computer skills required; prior experience with an EMR for documentation preferred.
