Position Overview at Cherokee Nation Businesses
ROLE SUMMARY
This position is essential for the daily maintenance and care of an 18-hole golf course along with its surrounding facilities.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Efficiently operates a variety of maintenance machinery and tools specific to golf course upkeep.
- Oversees mowing and trimming operations for greens, tees, and additional areas.
- Maintains the cleanliness and condition of sand traps and other course features.
- Regularly sets up tee markers and cups to ensure optimal play conditions.
- Conducts landscaping activities, including edging of cart paths and flower beds.
- Adheres to operational protocols for the upkeep of golf maintenance equipment.
- Provides assistance with other assigned tasks as required.
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS
This role does not include supervisory or management responsibilities.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required, along with a basic understanding of golf course maintenance practices. A valid driver's license is mandatory.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of golf principles and practices.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong organizational and customer service capabilities.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Ability to foster positive relationships with colleagues and guests.
- Willingness to obtain necessary licenses pertinent to the role.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires standing, walking, and the ability to lift weights up to 50 lbs. The individual will be exposed to various weather conditions and chemicals used in maintenance tasks.
