Job Summary: Enforcement and Litigation Attorney

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Attorney to join our Enforcement and Litigation team at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). As an Attorney, you will play a critical role in enforcing laws and regulations related to banking and financial institutions. You will be responsible for litigating cases, analyzing legal and litigation issues, and providing authoritative legal analyses and advice to senior management officials and policymakers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Litigate cases in administrative and civil enforcement proceedings, including violations of laws and regulations, safety and soundness, and risk management
  • Analyze legal and litigation issues to propose solutions and provide authoritative legal analyses and advice to senior management officials and policymakers
  • Represent the FDIC in formal and informal investigations, and in preparing for and conducting trials and hearings
  • Draft legal memoranda, motions, briefs, opinions, and pleadings
  • Work closely with staff members in other government agencies, including the Federal Reserve Board and Banks, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Department of Justice, and state banking departments


Requirements:
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Master of Laws (LL.M.) from a school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA)
  • Current active bar membership (valid license to practice law)
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 13 grade level or above in the Federal service
  • Experience performing duties as an attorney litigating all aspects of cases, analyzing legal and litigation issues, and orally presenting analysis, conclusions, and recommendations relating to the interpretation and application of statutes and regulations
