Key Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities:


- Actively engage in all facets of our safety and quality initiatives, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining an injury-free workplace.

- Participate in entry-level mechanical, electrical, and field construction tasks.

- Assist in developing budgetary mechanical/electrical estimates based on design information.

- Contribute to the review of mechanical and electrical alternatives during the preconstruction phase and perform systems analysis for selected projects.

- Support the development of mechanical and electrical scopes of work for the bidding process.

- Aid in bid analysis and provide insights during subcontractor selection.

- Help establish sequencing requirements for various systems to meet project timelines.

- Gain familiarity with design documents to identify potential quality issues and assist in creating constructability review reports.

- Conduct job inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.

- Assist with the shop drawing and submittal process to align with contract requirements.

- Participate in the commissioning process, including the creation of pre-functional checklists and functional testing procedures.

- Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn.


Additional Responsibilities:


- Complete more complex mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.

- Develop comprehensive budgetary estimates based on program and schematic designs.

- Review mechanical and electrical options, conduct systems analysis, and recommend optimal solutions.

- Coordinate mechanical and electrical scopes during the bidding phase.

- Provide scheduling input and develop sequencing requirements for various systems.

- Identify potential quality issues in design documents and assist in quality control program development.

- Perform job inspections throughout the project lifecycle to ensure quality compliance.

- Create pre-functional checklists and functional testing procedures, verifying contractor performance.

- Review and approve shop drawings before submission to the design team.

- Generate and submit the Commissioning Plan for necessary approvals.

- Ensure deficiencies are addressed and submit commissioning documentation.

- Mentor less experienced colleagues.

- Innovate M/E tools and solutions to enhance processes and outputs.

- Uphold and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion within the organization.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Ability to perform tasks accurately and in a timely manner.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Proficiency in MS Office applications.

- Ability to interpret plans, drawings, and specifications.

- Familiarity with JE Dunn construction M/E tools and software.

- Understanding of construction management methods.

- Capacity to build relationships and collaborate effectively within teams.


Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or a related field is required.

- Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.


Experience:

- A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction and/or engineering is preferred.

- A valid and unrestricted driver’s license is required.
