Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team at TEKsystems. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, contributing, and maintaining test automation code.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain test automation frameworks using Java, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Apply common development and test automation design patterns such as Page Object Model and Object Oriented Programming.
  • Use various tools and development skills to enhance and facilitate testing.
  • Mine, identify, create, and validate data from various data sources.
  • Develop software tests of software applications and other types of applications based on defined requirements and stories.
  • Devise automation architectures and QA strategies/plans appropriate for the given development methodology.
  • Ensure all levels of testing are performed with the right approach and adequate coverage.
  • Participate in backlog grooming sessions with the team to validate the requirements.
  • Assist the team in refining user stories and determining acceptance criteria.
  • Perform front-end and back-end analysis of applications.
  • Log defects, anomalies, and issues into a defect tracking system and review them with project team members to assist with resolution.
  • Propose and implement solutions to quality-related process issues within the context of assigned projects.
  • Report test results and status to the team.
  • Work in a highly dynamic project environment, effectively adapting to changing requirements, priorities, and schedules.
  • Work with technically complex software.
  • Have a strong ability to work in an open, dynamic, and collaborative team environment.
  • Be comfortable interacting with different groups, all levels of leadership, and client contacts.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong programming skills and experience in Java, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Experience working in a Java integrated development environment.
  • Extensive experience developing UI automated tests with Protractor and other WebDriver technologies such as Nightwatch.js and webdrive.io.
  • Experience testing and developing automated tests for both REST and SOAP services using Karate, RestAssured or similar tools such as Supertest and Checkrum.
  • Excellent knowledge of test automation methodologies, best practices e.g. Page Object Model, and programming design patterns e.g. Object Oriented Programming.
  • Experience leading test automation framework design/architecture and implementation efforts.
  • Demonstrate expertise related to tool selection and implementation.
  • Experience in implementing various BDD frameworks, such as Jbehave, Cucumber, and SpecFlow.
  • Experience in reading and writing HTML, CSS, JSON, and XML.
  • Experience with source control technologies; GIT, Subversion, VSS.
  • Experience implementing and working with various branching strategies; feature branching, Gitflow.
  • Experience with multi-stack test development in a continuous development/integration environment; component, integration, system, and acceptance tests.
