Job Description

MITRE is seeking an experienced Linux HPC Systems Administrator to lead our team in delivering AI and HPC services to our organization and its sponsors. As a Group Lead, you will be responsible for purchasing, deploying, and maintaining HPC hardware and user tools for over 800 MITRE employees across multiple systems, including an NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a collaborative team that leverages automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced computing to deliver AI and HPC services.
  • Purchase, deploy, and maintain HPC hardware and user tools for multiple systems.
  • Engage with projects across MITRE to build and support computing environments for Artificial Intelligence, Data Analysis, Modeling and Simulation, and more.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Mentor and guide team members to foster a collaborative and inclusive environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering or similar field; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
  • Linux systems administration experience (15+ years)
  • HPC systems administration experience (5+ years)
  • Experience in project management and team leadership (5+ years).
  • Familiarity with NVIDIA GPU hardware and integration into HPC and AI workflows.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in using cluster management tools such as Bright or NVIDIA Base Command Manager.
  • Familiarity with NVIDIA DGX systems, including DGX H100, and integration into HPC and AI workflows.
  • Desired experience as a team lead or similar role in AI or related field.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong commitment to ethical practices and data privacy considerations in AI development and deployment.

Security Clearance:

This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s): Secret.

Salary Compensation Range:

$151,000 - $188,500 - $226,000 Annual
