Key Responsibilities

  • Employment Facilitation: Assist participants in securing subsidized job opportunities aligned with their interests and in high-demand sectors.
  • Workplace Orientation: Educate participants on essential job functions and acclimate them to workplace culture.
  • Modeling Success: Demonstrate the principles of employment success taught during pre-employment training.
  • Support Transition: Provide encouragement as participants navigate their transition into the workplace.
  • Performance Monitoring: Conduct site visits to assess client performance, observe behavior, and intervene when necessary.
  • Employer Relations: Cultivate a positive rapport with employers to ensure effective communication regarding performance feedback.
  • Coaching: Deliver on-site coaching that promotes professional growth and development.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality and client integrity while providing services in the workplace.

Employment Counseling:

  • Provide additional services as needed, including support for mental, emotional, and learning disabilities, as well as financial literacy programs.
  • Facilitate job readiness workshops.
  • Evaluate skills, assist with career planning, and refer clients to supportive community employment resources.

General Requirements:

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Demonstrate effective multitasking and time management skills.
  • Attend all required staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Engage in program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Work effectively in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Complete necessary documentation accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with referring agencies regarding client needs and services.
  • Uphold a professional standard while representing the agency.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to ensure best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a human services field preferred, or equivalent experience in child welfare or employment services.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills and time management.
  • Experience with DCFS wards is advantageous.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required.
  • No history of child abuse or neglect.
