Job Description

Job Summary:

The Salvation Army Central Territory is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our retail team. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and achieving sales goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the sales floor, stockroom, and customer service areas.
  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit card transactions, and returns.
  • Restock shelves, maintain visual merchandising displays, and ensure a visually appealing store environment.
  • Participate in visual merchandising and inventory management, including receiving and processing shipments.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve sales goals and meet customer needs.

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to speak, write, and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with customers, management, and coworkers.
  • Basic computer skills, including the use of a Point of Sales System and other programs adopted by the organization.
  • Ability to give change accurately and handle cash transactions.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds.

Working Conditions:

The work environment for this position is a store environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. The environment may be dusty and may experience temperature fluctuations based on weather. The employee is routinely exposed to outdoor weather. Full-time or part-time position, requiring weekend and evening hours.
