We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Instrument Sterilization Specialist to join our team. As a critical member of our sterile processing department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care by sterilizing and preparing medical instruments for use.

 

Responsibilities

  • Sterilization and Processing: Inspect, assemble, and evaluate surgical instruments and sets to ensure quality, determine need for repair/replacement, validate completeness of set, and facilitate effective sterilization.
  • Decontamination and Inspection: Operate sterilization equipment, inspect instruments, equipment, and containers to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning.
  • Instrument Tracking and Management: Correct instrument sets according to current standards, established count sheets, and/or instrument tracking systems.

 

Requirements

  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: One or more of the following required:
    • Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).
