About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Meat Cutter to join our team at Chillicothe Save A Lot. As a key member of our meat department, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and satisfaction.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will ensure the store's meat department operates efficiently and effectively, driving sales and maximizing profitability. You will be responsible for trimming and preparing standard cuts of meat, following company guidelines and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the direction of the Meat Manager, Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, and Meat Cutter II/Trainer to maintain high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Cut and package authorized beef, pork, and poultry items according to company policies and procedures using knives and power equipment.
  • Wrap, weigh, and price cuts of meat accurately and efficiently.
  • Label packages according to COOL, USDA, and company standards.
  • Ensure displays and case signs are updated regularly, and meat is merchandised and presented to maximize sales.
  • May assist with product ordering and inventory management.
  • Maintain proper date rotation for dated and undated products per company policy, both in the display case and storage coolers.
  • Prepare and place meat cuts and products in the display counter according to company procedures to ensure visual appeal.
  • Receive, inspect, and store meat upon delivery, maintaining cold chain and ensuring meat quality.
  • Ensure excellent sanitation and quality standards are met daily, adhering to company policy.
  • Follow and execute all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to: COOL, Food Safety, Sanitation, Meat/Produce Scale operation, Mark Downs, Inventory Processes, Meat POGs, Meat Cutter Resource Manual, Daily Manager Signoff, and Meat Cutting List.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to maintain optimal store performance.
Physical Requirements
  • The majority of work is performed in a temperature-controlled environment with a standard temperature range of 32-45 degrees.
  • Requires the ability to reach, bend, twist, balance, lift, and transport objects weighing up to 30 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift; occasionally, product weight may reach 100 pounds.
  • Must have the ability to move heavy product with assistance.
  • Requires the ability to stand, walk, and/or move about for extended periods.
  • Requires the ability to push, pull, grasp, and use sawing motions for extended periods.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience and location. Benefits include:
