Medical Physicist Role

Ascension Via Christi is seeking a Medical Physicist to contribute to the quality of care in radiation-producing sources and imaging equipment, ensuring patient and staff safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform equipment calibrations and maintenance.
  • Recommend and justify new equipment and products for the department.
  • Conduct equipment performance reviews and implement quality control procedures.
  • Educate staff on radiation safety practices.
  • Support physics aspects of patient treatment, including consultation with radiation oncologists and calculation of radiation doses.
Requirements:
  • Medical Physicist credentialed from the American Board of Radiology within 12 months of hire date.
  • Master or Doctorate in Physics, Chemistry, Medical Physics, Health Physics, or Radiological Sciences, or be enrolled in a CAMPEP-accredited program or an ABR-approved Structured Mentorship program.
