The Food Service Helper plays a crucial role in preparing and serving high-quality meals to students efficiently and courteously, while also managing meal payment collections.

Essential Functions:
  • Plan and prepare various food items.
  • Assist in the daily sanitation of kitchen equipment to meet cleanliness standards.
  • Report any issues with food quality or equipment to the appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare meals according to established menus and recipes, ensuring quality in taste and presentation.
  • Document all food requisitions from storage.
  • Set up and dismantle serving areas (e.g., salad bar, hot food, à la carte).
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, steamers, and mixers.
  • Collect and manage meal payments.
  • Count cash, provide change, and complete necessary reports.
  • Deposit collected funds appropriately.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Push/pull weights up to 75 pounds.
  • Handle kitchen tools and equipment effectively.
  • Frequently squat or kneel.
  • Bend and twist while using equipment.
  • Occasionally navigate stairs and ladders.
  • Engage in repetitive hand and arm movements.
  • Utilize various visual skills for tasks.
Attendance:

Consistent attendance is vital for this role.
