Job Summary

CAPPS, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Forensic Scientist to join our team in the Seized Drugs department. As a Forensic Scientist, you will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests, analyzing evidence, and providing expert testimony in court.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct laboratory tests and analyses on seized drug evidence
  • Interpret analytical and instrumental results
  • Prepare written reports and testify as an expert witness in court
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of current research and techniques in forensic science
  • Collaborate with law enforcement officials and other stakeholders to provide expert analysis and testimony
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as chemistry, biology, or forensic science
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a forensic science laboratory
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
  • Knowledge of Texas Forensic Science Commission regulations and guidelines
