Job SummaryCAPPS, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Forensic Scientist to join our team in the Seized Drugs department. As a Forensic Scientist, you will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests, analyzing evidence, and providing expert testimony in court.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct laboratory tests and analyses on seized drug evidence
- Interpret analytical and instrumental results
- Prepare written reports and testify as an expert witness in court
- Develop and maintain knowledge of current research and techniques in forensic science
- Collaborate with law enforcement officials and other stakeholders to provide expert analysis and testimony
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as chemistry, biology, or forensic science
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a forensic science laboratory
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Master's degree in a relevant field
- Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
- Knowledge of Texas Forensic Science Commission regulations and guidelines
