About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at US Tech Solutions. As a key member of our Hardware Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems for advanced airborne systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for airborne systems, including podded communication link and sensor systems, airborne armament equipment, alternate mission equipment, cockpit displays, avionics, and radar systems.
  • Support the integration of new and existing systems onto airborne, shipborne, and ground vehicles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that meet product requirements.
  • Utilize 3-D CAD modeling software to create design solutions.
  • Support production, integration, and testing of mechanical systems.
  • Develop solutions that leverage commercial off the shelf (COTS) products paired with custom hardware.
  • Research and distill information from vendors and collate information.
  • Support design reviews, equipment integration, profiling, and testing.
  • Provide input on mechanical issues to the project team.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years professional work experience.
  • Experience in the design, integration, or testing of mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Competent using 3-D CAD Modeling Tools (CREO preferred).
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to be adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.
  • Experience capturing key characteristics & requirements for systems.
  • Must be a self-starter, a quick learner, and be able to function in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong teaming skills, and good communication skills.
Desired Skills
  • Design, integration, or test experience/understanding of airborne podded systems.
  • Airborne armament equipment or alternate mission equipment.
  • Cockpit displays.
  • Avionics.
  • Radar Systems.
  • Mobile Ground SystemsGround Vehicle Structures.
  • Custom/COTS Electronics including wires, relays, and analog electronics.
  • Design for human factors / safety.
  • Prototyping and agile methodology (quick turn solutions).
  • Understanding manufacturing / fabrication of non-exotic materials.
  • Understanding of structural design.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) degree program.
