Job Description

We are seeking an Academic Support Specialist to support the social-emotional, mental, and behavioral health of our students. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers to provide day-to-day behavior support through tiered interventions, develop Behavior Plans, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure students meet their individual behavior goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides staff support and modeling for behavior intervention strategies.
  • Assists in creating functional behavioral assessments (FBAs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Monitors student progress, makes referrals, and collaborates with external agencies as needed.
  • Conducts counseling sessions for at-risk or mandated students.
  • Guides students in conflict resolution, accountability, and empathy.
Core Competencies & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will possess strong instructional knowledge for Elementary School (K - 4th Grade) or Middle School (5th-8th Grade) Character Formation subjects. They will also have an unwavering commitment to the educational mission of Brilla Schools Network.

Qualifications
  • Restorative Practitioner and/or Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification or licensure (preferred).
  • Degree in Special Education, related human services field, or significant qualitative experience with behavioral management in a school setting (willingness to pursue additional certification/degree).
Estimated Salary Range

$79,000 - $95,000 per year, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus for some roles may be provided as part of the compensation package subject to executive leadership approval, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
