Key Responsibilities:

  • Full-time, permanent position specializing in nephrology.
  • Work schedule limited to weekdays, Monday through Friday.
  • No evening or weekend shifts required.
  • Engage in a combination of dialysis rounds and chronic kidney disease (CKD) clinic responsibilities.
  • Conditions managed include Chronic Kidney Disease, Acute Kidney Injury, End-Stage Renal Disease, and more.
  • Conduct patient rounds in dialysis units twice monthly, as assigned.
  • Collaborate with nephrologists to manage patients with CKD stages 1-5.
  • Administer treatments for anemia using erythropoietin stimulating agents and iron therapy.
  • Provide comprehensive CKD education to patients, covering advanced stages, comorbidities, and treatment options.
  • Develop differential diagnoses and work with nephrologists to create and execute care plans.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies according to established protocols.
  • Identify abnormalities and provide necessary treatments as directed by nephrologists.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse in nephrology or a related field.
  • Background in nursing with experience in nephrology, primary care, or internal medicine.
  • Possession of a valid Texas Nurse Practitioner license and DEA registration.
