Job Summary

As a Staff Electrical Systems Engineer at Public Service Enterprise Group Inc, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and availability of our nuclear power plant's electrical systems. You will provide technical expertise in identifying, investigating, and resolving plant operating, safety, and design issues. Your responsibilities will include monitoring, trending, and assessing systems and components to improve reliability, establishing system performance for designated electrical systems, and developing and scoping long-term asset management strategies. You will also lead cross-functional teams to resolve system performance issues and ensure compliance with design/license basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in electrical systems engineering and design
• Identify, investigate, and resolve plant operating, safety, and design issues
• Monitor, trend, and assess systems and components to improve reliability
• Establish system performance for designated electrical systems
• Develop and scope long-term asset management strategies
• Lead cross-functional teams to resolve system performance issues
• Ensure compliance with design/license basis

Requirements

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in nuclear power plant engineering and/or equivalent experience
• Ability to support shift work during refueling outage, forced outages, and access industrial areas of nuclear power plant
• Ability to gain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree or experience in electrical controls or digital engineering
• 10+ years of nuclear power plant experience working in electrical design, emergent response/engineering Fix-it-Now Teams, or plant engineering
• Understanding of NERC/FERC requirements, Generator Systems, Transformers, Maintenance Rule, PWR Electrical System Design, and the Taproot failure analysis process
• Experience with large power generators
• SRO license or certification preferred
