Special Education Teacher

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team at Scarsdale Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with Autism and other developmental delays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of students
  • Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless transitions and effective communication
  • Monitor and assess student progress, making adjustments to instruction as needed
  • Provide feedback and guidance to students, parents, and colleagues to promote student growth and success
Requirements
  • New York State Initial, Professional, or Permanent Special Education certification
  • Dual certification in Elementary Education preferred
  • At least four years of successful teaching experience in a similar program
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in related area
  • Experience with ABA and TEACCH methodologies
  • Knowledge of data information systems and data analysis
