Well Operations Technician

Join Wood PLC as a Lease Operator, where you will play a vital role in managing well operations. We provide comprehensive health benefits, a 401k plan, vacation time, and more. The selected candidate will oversee gas lifted wells, electrical submersible pumps (ESPs), three-phase separation, gas compression, and perform minor maintenance on valves, pumps, and rotating machinery.
WORK AUTHORIZATION
Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Document data, monitor and test gauges, and conduct minor repairs on equipment.
- Prepare for and execute maintenance tasks, including taking readings, conducting rounds, issuing work permits, adhering to procedures, initiating work requests, drafting procedures, and collaborating with support teams.
- Proactively assess well and equipment performance, taking necessary actions to enhance production.
- Collaborate with support teams to optimize chemical pump rates based on production metrics (corrosion, paraffin, soap injection, etc.).
- Work with Engineering for data collection requests.
- Monitor and analyze test compression data.
- Conduct fluid level assessments using an echo meter.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Provide technical, functional, and/or administrative support.
- Experience in handling chemicals and/or oil treatment.
- General understanding of specific systems, terminology, and procedures relevant to the department.
- Perform routine tasks effectively.
- Able to troubleshoot issues and make basic decisions.
