Position Summary

The Site Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all daily on-site construction activities. This role requires a strong understanding of construction techniques and processes, as well as the ability to communicate effectively across various disciplines to achieve optimal outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities and exceptional organizational skills.

  • Oversee the daily coordination of all contractors and subcontractors to ensure adherence to safety, production, quality, and scheduling standards.
  • Interpret and execute plans, specifications, and related documents accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations while managing on-site construction activities.
  • Lead a team of workers and subcontractors, managing work schedules, project timelines, and resource allocation to meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate material and equipment orders with suppliers and vendors.
  • Maintain comprehensive records for site personnel, including daily logs, field orders, and RFIs, reporting to management as necessary.
  • Monitor and enforce on-site safety compliance, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other construction management personnel to establish project timelines.
  • Ensure that quality standards and equipment specifications are consistently met.
  • Facilitate communication among the project team and support subcontractors in executing their contracted work.
  • Conduct inspections or arrange for inspectors to fulfill safety and compliance requirements.
  • Keep a detailed daily report of all site activities, visitors, and inspections.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts by organizing meetings and collaborating with team members across various roles.
  • Set a standard for maintaining an organized and clean job site, including compliance with waste disposal and environmental safety regulations.
  • Coordinate updates to contract documents as necessary.
  • Ensure all work is performed according to established QAQC standards.
  • Ensure that all contractors adhere to OSHA standards and the safety policies of ICC INC.
  • Lead weekly progress meetings with subcontractors and actively participate in Owner Architect Meetings.
  • Oversee the project quality plan.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in the construction field, with 3-5 years specifically as a Site Operations Supervisor on projects valued at $5 million or more.
  • A degree in Construction Management (AS or BS) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience in commercial, industrial, facility, or warehousing construction is advantageous.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret construction documents, including blueprints, specifications, change directives, and contract scopes of work.
  • Proficient in writing reports and professional correspondence to vendors, government officials, and clients.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, particularly in interactions with customers, clients, or official visitors.
  • Strong attention to detail to identify non-compliance with regulations or standards.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and navigate varying climate conditions and uneven terrain.
  • Experience managing demanding clients and providing innovative solutions to meet their needs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Project, and Excel.
  • OSHA 10 HR and OSHA 30 HR certifications are required.
  • Red Cross AED and First Aid Certification is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office setting with travel to construction sites as needed. The role may involve working in environments such as factory floors where industrial machinery is operational.

Physical Demands

This role requires the employee to occasionally stand, walk, sit, use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; and communicate verbally. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products, supplies, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Travel Requirements

Willingness and ability to travel to various site locations as necessary.
