Darigold is seeking a Lead Specialist in Process Safety Management to enhance our operational team. The ideal candidate will possess a robust technical background and extensive experience in Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Programs (RMP) specifically related to anhydrous ammonia refrigeration systems.

We are in search of a dedicated individual to oversee the execution and ongoing development of our PSM and RMP initiatives for ammonia refrigeration processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Take charge of the establishment, upkeep, and regulatory adherence of PSM and RMP programs while ensuring the integrity of ammonia and associated cooling systems.
  • Guide and support the utilities team, ensuring comprehension and compliance with PSM and RMP mandates. Conduct internal audits to verify adherence to these regulations.
  • Manage reporting and compliance obligations for the EPA's Risk Management Plan (RMP).
  • Oversee and monitor follow-up actions from prior audits and inspections.
  • Lead modifications to PSM/RMP processes and programs.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of refrigeration systems, PSM (14 elements), RMP, and relevant state and federal regulations.
  • Apply PSM principles to general duty clause environments.
  • Deliver technical and PSM-related training as necessary. Organize and track employee training in regulatory and technical areas.
  • Coordinate with approved contractors and internal resources for Mechanical Integrity inspections and Process Hazard Assessments.
  • Act as the technical subject matter expert during agency inspections, providing guidance and support.
  • Assist the plant maintenance supervisor/manager with PSM/RMP reporting and engage in environmental projects as required.
  • Support troubleshooting and incident investigation efforts concerning ammonia systems.
  • Establish a dedicated PSM team to address critical issues as needed, holding regular meetings to communicate outcomes to the plant and compliance teams.
  • Participate in routine compliance team and corporate health, safety, and environmental (HSE) conference calls, collaborating on corporate ammonia system program management.
  • Assist the HSE Manager to align PSM/RMP priorities with HSE objectives.
  • This role will primarily be based in our operational hub and can provide remote support to other facilities as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient understanding of OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and general duty clause requirements for ammonia refrigeration.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Capability to read and interpret P&ID diagrams and plans.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in PSM/RMP.

Compensation Range:
$
69,289 - $95,273 (salary based on prior experience, knowledge, and skills).
