We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at UHS Wilson Medical Center. As an LPN Acute Care, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide skilled nursing care tasks and procedures under the direction of an RN, nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, physician, or other authorized healthcare provider.
- Perform clinical assignments within scope of practice to maximize patient experience and ensure patient safety.
- Promote and facilitate the compliance and understanding of Joint Commission, NYS DOH, Infection Control, and all regulatory standards.
- Under the direction of a provider or RN, educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
- Utilize a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administer medications according to UHS Hospitals policy.
- Maintain CLIA Waived Lab standards and perform CLIA Waived Lab testing and proficiency validations according to regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
- Participate in Performance Improvement activities, reviews PI data, and assists in the development of Performance Improvement plans.
- Adaptability, attention to detail, willingness to collaborate, strong communication (verbal & written), planning (organizing, time management), striving to deliver quality service, reliability, knowledge of safety and risk management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
12-hour shifts, every other Monday, starting on 8/26, 9/9, etc.
Additional details: willing to allow local CLNs for a lower BR.
