Job Summary

This position is responsible for the cooking responsibilities of the Blue Foot Deli. The primary function is to prepare food while providing excellent guest service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts preparation, apportionment, cooking, and presentation of food orders for customers.
  • Safely operates all kitchen equipment, including a grill, fryer, espresso machine, coffee machine, slicer, and soda dispenser.
  • Serves cold drinks, frozen milk drinks, or desserts.
  • Makes and serves hot beverages.
  • Maintains sanitary and orderly eating or serving areas.
  • Maintains the deli case in a clean and visually pleasing fashion.
  • Cuts delicatessen meats and cheeses to specification with slicing machine, knives, or other cutters for presentation.
  • Weighs and wraps sliced foods and affixes sticker showing price and weight.
  • Maintains a courteous, tactful relationship with customers.
  • Maintains a clean and welcoming environment for customers.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative and effective working relationships with Team Members.
  • Familiar with vendors and purchasing process.
  • Prepares and submits daily reports as prescribed.
  • Identifies inventory items that need to be purchased.
  • Carries out verbal and written instructions from management.
  • Protects the assets of the Blue Lake Casino & Hotel.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Knowledge of food handling/food safety procedures.
  • Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge and ability to prepare cold and hot foods for consumption.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.
