Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Building Inspector to join our team at Kootenai County, ID. As a Building Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring that construction projects meet all applicable codes, ordinances, and policies.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
- Review construction plans and documents to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Communicate with builders, architects, and engineers to resolve any issues or concerns
- Enforce building codes and regulations through inspections and investigations
- Provide education and training to builders and the public on building codes and regulations
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- OR high school diploma/GED and associate's degree in Building Inspection, Engineering, Architectural Drafting, or related field, and 2 years of related experience
- ICC Residential Building Inspector certifications
- Working knowledge of building, mechanical, energy, and fire codes, state housing laws, local zoning ordinances, health and safety codes, construction plans, materials, methods, and safety standards
- Valid driver's license and insurable
- Competitive hourly rate of $26.45 - $31.42
- ICC Residential Building Inspector certifications sponsored by the employer
