About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll lead the design effort for critical projects, providing technical expertise and direction across our global operations network. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and continuous improvement at existing sites, resulting in a strong network of subject matter experts across the world.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret, implement, and recommend modifications to company-wide policies
• Apply technical principles, theories, and concepts in the development of electrical scope of works for complex to medium capital projects
• Perform work that involves an in-depth investigation of subject area, definition of scope, selection of areas of investigation, and development of novel concept
• Conceive plans and conduct engineering research/investigation in areas of considerable scope and complexity
• Work with EHSS in support of electrically related safety initiatives, plans, and investigations
• Delivery of large capital projects with responsibilities for electrical design
• Represent BioSpace, Inc. with outside firms, technical societies, and regulatory bodies

Requirements

• High school diploma / GED and 10 years of Engineering experience OR
• Associate degree and 8 years of Engineering experience OR
• Bachelors degree and 4 years of Engineering experience OR
• Master's degree and 2 years of Engineering experience OR
• Doctorate degree
• Professional registration, such as a Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills, and the ability to approach technical issues with a science-based mentality while providing clear direction within the area of expertise
• Familiarity and/or experience working in a regulated environment, pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries
• Knowledge of regulations (e.g. cGMP, building codes, fire codes, electrical codes, OSHA, LEED, Energy codes) to ensure compliance
• Experience in the design and construction for medium voltage electrical distribution systems including switchgear, transformers, and paralleling generators
• Knowledge of design and construction for 600V (and below) electrical distribution systems equipment including switchgear, MCCs, panel-boards, lighting / lighting control, power monitoring, generators, UPS, and grounding
• Knowledge of electrical design and construction in hazardous classification areas (NEC Article 500)
• Knowledge of design and construction of renewable energy systems (PV Solar)
• Ability to provide direction and guidance to external design firms to deliver capital projects
• Ability to provide solutions to a large variety of technical problems of moderate to large complexity and scope
• Problem-solving skills to apply the application of scientific and engineering theory and calculations and creative skills in the development of hypotheses and approaches
• Ability to travel as needed to deliver the project including overnight stays
• Strong communication skills (both written and oral)
