Nursing Care Assistant Role Overview

Duke Health seeks a skilled Nursing Care Assistant to provide high-quality patient care in our ICU setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer treatment and personal care procedures to patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
  • Perform selected patient care tasks to assist medical and nursing personnel in providing comprehensive care.
  • Retrieve and record patient data in electronic medical records to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Clean assigned areas and replenish supplies to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Assist in transporting patients to and from various locations within the hospital.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a Level I - Nurse Aide education program.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Professional Certifications:

  • Currently listed as a Nursing Assistant (NAI).
  • AHA Basic Healthcare provider certification must be maintained/completed.
