**About You**

This is an excellent opportunity for a general practice veterinarian who is ready to engage with more intricate cases, or an emergency veterinarian looking for a more structured schedule and a manageable workload.

In this position, you will significantly impact the lives of your patients, clients, and colleagues.

Your role will involve providing reliable walk-in, outpatient care for pets experiencing non-life-threatening conditions that require immediate veterinary attention.

**Ideal Candidate Profile**

The ideal candidate will be prepared to alleviate the demands on our local emergency hospitals, assist our referring veterinary community, and deliver outstanding service to pet owners.

**Experience & Skills Requirements**
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree is required.
  • State Veterinary Board License in good standing for the state of employment is necessary prior to the start date.
  • Active DEA license or eligibility for DEA licensure is required.

**About The Hospital**

Thrive San Marcos is an Urgent Care facility focusing on:
  • Minor emergencies that are not life-threatening, such as lacerations, limping or painful pets, hypersensitivity reactions, vomiting or diarrhea without significant dehydration, and ear infections causing discomfort.
  • Cases referred by general practice veterinarians who are unable to accommodate them in a timely manner and that fit within our scope of care.

The Urgent Care department has been designed to address a critical need in our community and hospital. We aim to provide efficient, compassionate care to patients with non-critical conditions, ensuring they receive excellent care without delay. In the Urgent Care department, we offer both walk-ins and appointments for various conditions, maintaining close communication with primary veterinarians to ensure patients return for ongoing care with their family vet.

**Operational Hours**

We are now open seven days a week from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

**Eye Care for Animals** will soon be available within Thrive San Marcos, dedicated to providing top-notch veterinary ophthalmology services.

**Compensation** is negotiable based on credentials and experience, with an annual PROSAL full-time range starting at $150,000/year. The actual salary offered will consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
