Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate Room Service activities and orders in accordance with Loews Hotels standards.
  • Deliver, set up, and serve Room Service orders, amenity presentations, and provide service for functions in Hospitality Suites.
  • Perform departmental opening and closing duties, including monitoring and supervising department staff.
  • Schedule Room Service staff according to established guidelines and forecasted needs.
  • Obtain Hospitality function sheets, coordinate activities as needed to ensure timely performance of all necessary duties.
  • Oversee all aspects of Hospitality Suite set up, service, and breakdown.
  • Supervise completion of required set up/preparation at beginning of shift, inspect equipment, and report any needed repairs to supervisor.
  • Inventory supplies at beginning of shift, obtain supplies necessary to support forecasted level of business.
  • Coordinate preparation of coffee as required throughout shift, ensure trays and carts are reset as needed.
  • Check all Room Service Orders for accuracy and completeness prior to departing kitchen, oversee delivery of Room Service Orders to guestroom in a timely manner.
  • Monitor completion of departmental paperwork to ensure accuracy, coordinate pick up of soiled Room Service trays and carts from guestrooms and corridors.
  • Ensure cleanliness of Room Service area and equipment, assign and verify completion of closing duties at end of shift.
  • Perform administrative functions for department in accordance with hotel standards, maintain special service/amenity requests files, and coordinate delivery of items requested.
  • Attend meetings as required to communicate with personnel and stay current with pertinent hotel information and activities.
  • Coach, counsel, and retrain employees as needed to ensure superior levels of service.
  • Know how to open and close Honor bar area and post charges to guest accounts.
  • Submit daily requisitions for storeroom & beverage for department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Thorough knowledge of quality Room Service techniques and standards.
  • Effective organization, communication, and management skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry food service trays weighing 35+ pounds.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: One plus years experience as Room Service Supervisor/Captain in high volume, quality hotel operation.
